US Tax Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Overview

A global manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on US Tax Manager to lead all aspects of its U.S. tax function. This individual will be responsible for federal and state tax compliance, tax provision and reporting, transfer pricing support, audit management, and tax advisory activities. Working closely with senior tax leadership, this person will serve as the primary tax resource for the U.S. business while partnering with global finance and tax teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage U.S. federal and multi-state corporate income tax returns, including supporting calculations and disclosures.
  • Oversee IC-DISC calculations and coordinate related filings with external tax advisors.
  • Monitor changes in U.S. tax legislation and communicate potential impacts to the business.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, including current and deferred tax reporting under IFRS.
  • Support consolidated tax reporting and financial statement disclosures for the global organization.
  • Maintain accurate tax account reconciliations and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
  • Manage transfer pricing activities, including annual documentation, intercompany true-ups, and coordination with external advisors.
  • Serve as the primary contact for tax-related questions from finance and business stakeholders across the U.S. organization.
  • Support tax planning initiatives, corporate restructuring projects, and cross-border transactions.
  • Lead IRS and state tax audits, including responding to inquiries, gathering documentation, and coordinating with outside advisors.
  • Build strong working relationships with external tax firms, auditors, and tax authorities.

Ideal Background

  • CPA or equivalent U.S. tax credential required.
  • Strong experience in corporate tax compliance and tax reporting.
  • Background within a multinational corporation, Big 4 accounting firm, or a combination of both.
  • Knowledge of federal and state income tax, tax provisions, transfer pricing, and audit management.
  • Experience with ASC 740 tax accounting; IFRS experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a global environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across finance, tax, and business teams.
