Litigation Associate

About the Role

The firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its practice. This role offers the chance to handle a diverse range of litigation matters, with particular emphasis on family law and general business disputes involving small to medium-sized companies.

Depending on experience, the role also allows for mentorship and training of junior attorneys under the guidance of senior lawyers.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in litigation matters, particularly family law disputes and business challenges for small to mid-sized companies.

• Manage all aspects of case work, including client communication, legal research, drafting pleadings, discovery, and motion practice.

• Participate in hearings, mediations, and trials as appropriate.

• Collaborate closely with senior attorneys while taking increasing ownership of matters aligned with experience level.

• For senior-level associates: mentor junior attorneys and contribute to training and team development.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice in Tennessee (or eligibility to waive in).

• 1–15 years of litigation experience, with exposure to both family law and business disputes preferred.

• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

• Ability to manage client relationships and case responsibilities with professionalism.

• Interest in building a long-term career within a collaborative, growth-oriented law firm.
